Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China | The company held a themed speech contest: "A Century of Praise, Heart Towards the Party, Continuing the Past and Opening Up a New Chapter"

On the afternoon of April 23, the company held a speech contest themed "A Century of Praise, Heart to the Party, Continuing the Past and Opening Up a New Chapter." Twelve contestants from grassroots and administrative levels, closely focusing on the theme and based on their own positions, shared inspiring stories of the company's cadres and employees striving for high-quality development of the group and the company, and interpreted from multiple perspectives the determination and spirit of the company's cadres and employees to support the party and help the group and the company create a new chapter.

The competition invited Li Yuechun, former secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Kunming Branch of the Information Engineering University, an outstanding political instructor of the Chengdu Military Region, and a silver award winner of the All-Army Talent Cultivation Award, to serve as a judge.

Gu Yongmao, Party Secretary and Chairman of the company, the company's leadership team at home, heads of various grassroots units, senior and deputy leaders of various departments of the administrative organs, and employees in Kunming watched the competition.

In his address, Gu Yongmao pointed out that, as the whole country celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, holding a speech contest themed "A Century of Praise, Heart to the Party, Continuing the Past and Opening Up a New Chapter" aims to praise the glorious journey of our Party over the past 100 years, the great enthusiasm of cadres and employees for loving the Party, the country, socialism, and the enterprise, and the great achievements made by the group in the past 5 years and the company in the past 62 years. It also showcases the inspiring stories of the company's cadres and employees working hard for the high-quality development of the group and the company.

Gu Yongmao emphasized: First, we must raise our political standing and unify our thinking. Through the series of activities, we must deeply understand the importance of carrying out Party history learning and education. Second, we must further deeply understand the rich connotation of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, firmly establish a correct view of Party history, and combine the study of Party history with the study of the history of New China, the history of reform and opening up, and the history of socialist development. We must deeply study and understand the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping on carrying out Party history learning and education, and deeply grasp the ideals and beliefs, mission and feelings, thinking methods, and working methods contained therein. Third, we must strengthen organizational leadership and carry the learning and education through to the end. The Party organizations at both levels of the company must regard the organization and implementation of Party history learning and education and the series of activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party as an important political task in the current and future period, and effectively implement the various requirements and deployments of the Central Committee of the Party, the Provincial Committee, the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and the Party Committee of the Group, and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with a more vigorous spirit, more enthusiastic work, and more outstanding achievements!

In the competition, the contestants were either impassioned or calmly narrated. Some recounted their experiences in relocation and poverty alleviation work, feeling the growing strength of China under the leadership of the Communist Party; some talked about their experiences working in "One Belt, One Road" construction, going abroad and working overseas; others presented vivid examples of ordinary employees growing and sharing the fate with the company. The contestants' moving performances touched the judges and the audience, winning rounds of applause. To make the event more colorful, Gao Han, an employee of the Overseas Department of the administrative organ, presented a poetry recitation "The Party Flag Flies High," and young members of the Communist Youth League sang "My Youth."

Finally, Zhang Xiao from the Third Engineering Project Department won first prize with "A Century of Glory, My Heart to the Party"; Zhao Qiq from the Sixth Engineering Project Department with "A Century of Struggle, Setting Sail on a New Journey" and Xu Ruijie from the Tenth Engineering Project Department with "Never Forgetting Our Original Aspiration, Striving to Be a Builder" won second prize; Li Longcheng from the First Engineering Project Department with "Gathering Hearts and Building Dreams, Heart to the Party," Zhang Jinrun from the Second Engineering Project Department with "Inheriting the Red Sacred Fire, Striving to Be a New Youth of the Times," and Su Ziwen from the Eighth Engineering Project Department with "Decisive Battle Against Poverty Alleviation, Welcoming the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Party" won third prize.

Li Yuechun gave wonderful comments on the contestants' speeches and shared speech skills with everyone, which benefited the contestants greatly.

Gan Yong, member of the company's Party committee and chairman of the trade union, gave a summary speech, praising the contestants' wonderful speeches. He pointed out that the event not only provided a platform for everyone to showcase themselves and learn from each other, but also promoted the company's diverse approaches to Party history education and learning activities, educating and guiding a large number of Party members, cadres, and employees to further deepen their understanding of the Party, enhance their Party spirit and sense of purpose, and inherit and carry forward the glorious traditions and fine style of the Party. He hoped that everyone would take this event as an opportunity to practice the company's common code of conduct in their work, be grateful to the company, remember their responsibilities, and strive hard.

The competition concluded successfully with the singing of "Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China."
