In previous years, we always returned to our hometown for the Spring Festival. However, this year's Spring Festival was different; our family of three responded to the national call to celebrate the New Year on-site. We spent the fifth day of the Lunar New Year feeling bored, wondering what to do next... "Mom, why don't we go see a movie, let's watch 'Hi, Mom'."

In the film, Jia Ling's mother unfortunately died in a car accident, plunging the whole family into a dark abyss of grief. Her mother's death felt like the sky was falling down. Facing immense mental pressure, Jia Ling went through the most difficult time of her life... Jia Ling said she had never done anything to make her mother happy, nor had she experienced the joy of riding in a convertible, seen herself with a high-paying job, or reached a point of success... Those past regrets, that missed companionship, if only she could make amends in a different way, like in the movie!
Jia Ling felt like she was dreaming, traveling back to 1981. Her mother was still a young girl, with a slender figure, beautiful appearance, and a pure smile full of hope for life... And that volleyball game, young Li Huan Ying had a fighting spirit, confident eyes, and agile movements that made her shine in the competition. To give her mother something happy, she wanted to change Li Huan Ying's partner. She said, "If my mother hadn't given birth to me, she would have been happier." But life is like that; there's no second chance. Lost loved ones won't come back like in a movie; there's only endless regret and unfulfilled remorse.
"Mom, why do you smile so much?" "Because I gave birth to you." Li Huan Ying felt her life was happy. "My future daughter, I just want her to be healthy and happy." That was her greatest wish, and the wish of all mothers in the world! This ordinary yet great mother, before marriage, was the first person in the factory to buy a black and white TV. After having Jia Ling, she saved money and never bought decent clothes. She carefully cultivated Jia Ling's interest in acting and crosstalk, hoping her daughter would succeed. The film finally revisits Jia Ling's childhood memories...
"Mom, Li Huan Ying"
"What are you yelling about, you little rascal"
"I'll definitely succeed in the future"
"Of course you will"
"Then you have to wait for me"...
The simple, pure, and sincere emotions between mother and daughter moved millions of viewers, bringing tears to our eyes...
"Have you eaten? Have you slept? Wear more clothes, eat more..." In life, we always find our parents' nagging annoying and want to distance ourselves from them. Only when we grow up do we realize that this nagging is full of parental care. They just express their love for their children in their clumsy way, but we never really listened. Only after our parents pass away do we realize the regret, because we never thought that our parents were slowly aging, and we always thought we had plenty of time with them. Sometimes, family affection only lasts for a moment, so cherish the present and accompany our parents well! Don't have the regret of "The tree wants to be still, but the wind does not stop; the child wants to support, but the parents are no longer there!"
This movie was directed by Jia Ling to commemorate her mother. The story shown in the film is not only about her mother but also the life of all mothers. Jia Ling has achieved career success, with mansions, luxury cars, and hundreds of millions of income, enjoying endless wealth... But she said she would give up everything she has now in exchange for her mother's life; she is not happy at all. This film is dedicated to the memory of her mother's ordinary love and warns us to cherish the love we have!
