Genuine feelings, diligent efforts, and every little bit warms the heart - A tribute to Chen Li, a logistics support staff member of the Third Construction Department

“Women hold up half the sky”—this saying perfectly describes Chen Li, a logistics support staff member at the Third Engineering Project Department. 2016 Year— 2020 From Year to Year, Chen Li worked as a cook on several projects at the Third Engineering Department: the Jian Gong New City Business Building project, the Dianzhong New Area Fire Protection project, the Dianzhong New Area Power project, the Dianzhong New Area Shaoguan Road project, and the Shangri-La to Lijiang Expressway project. Although she was only a temporary worker, for four years, regardless of the distance to the project or the harsh conditions of the project site, she has always worked diligently without complaint, providing logistical support for each project department. Like other employees in the project department, she used her actions to interpret the meaning of dedication to her work. Every day, she prepares delicious meals on time for everyone, and she also takes the initiative to share the cleaning work of the project department. The kitchen, dining room, office area, restrooms, and employee dormitories in her project department are always kept clean and tidy.

Chen Li is diligent and meticulous. Every time she starts a new project, she pays attention to observing the dietary preferences and taboos of each employee and keeps them in mind. For those allergic to mint, she prepares a portion of braised beef with mint and another portion with coriander. There is a Hui employee in the Third Engineering Department, and Chen Li, without complaint, prepares a separate portion of beef for him every meal, and stir-fries other vegetables with vegetable oil to ensure he can eat them without worry. If an employee falls ill, she will prepare light meals and deliver them to them. For employees who work late, she always waits patiently in the kitchen to reheat their meals. From the project manager to ordinary employees, everyone feels her dedication to her work and her care for each individual.

Chen Li always treats the project department as her own home. There was a vacant lot next to the Shaoguan Road project department, and she immediately rolled up her sleeves and started planting vegetables. Soon, chives, scallions, coriander, mint, and fennel, a series of pesticide-free vegetables, appeared on the dinner table, improving the quality of meals and reducing costs. Her diligent and simple nature and her busy work created a warm, home-like atmosphere for the frontline project department. Over time, the employees treated her as a colleague and family member, and the younger employees affectionately called her "Sister Chen".

What's most touching is 2018 In Year, at the Dianzhong New Area project, the employees responsible for the project department's logistics also joined the construction work, leaving no time to go out and buy the daily necessities such as rice, noodles, oil, vegetables, fish, and meat for the canteen. Sister Chen would get up early every day, prepare breakfast, and then carry a backpack to walk three kilometers to the market to buy fresh vegetables to ensure the quality of the canteen meals. 100 During the peak construction period of the Dianzhong project, the project department canteen had to provide meals for many people. She and another temporary cook worked tirelessly from early morning to late at night for a month. 10 o'clock, she was still preparing supper for the employees who were working overtime. Bowl after bowl of steaming noodles helped the workers forget their fatigue. Due to the rush of work, the project's costs increased sharply, and the limited funds were used for labor costs and material purchases. The project manager and several leaders often pooled their money together for food expenses. Chen Li noticed this and quietly used her own salary to buy vegetables, solving a major problem for the project department. During the rush work, the project site experienced a water shortage for 20 days, making it difficult to wash rice and vegetables. Chen Li silently used a cart to haul buckets of water from the public water point, ensuring the normal supply of the project department canteen. After 200 days of hard work, the Dianzhong New Area project was successfully completed, becoming a model project for the company's fire protection projects and was awarded the company's 2018 Year advanced collective award. Who can say that Sister Chen did not contribute to these achievements and honors? It was her diligence, kindness, simplicity, virtuousness, and hard-working spirit that supported half the sky of the frontline project. Her contributions were silent like spring rain, allowing frontline employees to work with peace of mind and wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to their work.
