To commemorate the victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, on November 20, 2020, the company organized employees to watch the movie "The Battle at Lake Changjin." With excitement, I arrived at the cinema, entered in order, found my seat, and waited quietly. In a short while, the seats were full. With a bang, the lights went out, and the movie began. The Chinese People's Volunteers appeared on the screen, some repairing bridges, some keeping watch, and some always ready for battle. Company commander Yan Rui led a group of sappers to repair a wooden bridge destroyed by the enemy. Some carried planks, some pulled ropes, some hammered, all busy. In a short while, the whistle blew, and it was time to cross the bridge. The messenger quickly sent a message to the main force, and the main force prepared to cross the bridge in order. At this time, American fighter jets arrived, and the volunteers immediately hid in an orderly manner. The planes dropped several bombs, and the repaired bridge was destroyed again. At this moment, my tense mood relaxed. Fortunately, only the bridge was destroyed, and there were not many casualties. Compared with the American fighter jets, the weapons of the volunteers were like an egg hitting a stone. Watching the volunteers repairing the bridge, I was uneasy, fearing that the enemy would attack. This time, it was platoon leader Lao Gao who led the infantry squad leader Liu Hao to organize the bridge repair, and finally the bridge was repaired. It was already dark, and the volunteers were crossing the bridge with their guns on their backs. With a bang, a time bomb planted by the Americans in the water exploded, and the scene was instantly in chaos, with countless casualties. Liu Hao, sweating profusely, anxiously searched for Lao Gao, shouting as he went. Lao Gao heard Liu Hao's voice and grabbed Liu Hao's leg. At this time, Lao Gao was already bloody and used his last breath to say: "Quickly repair the bridge." Even before his death, Lao Gao did not forget to repair the bridge. From Lao Gao's body, the great spirit of the Chinese People's Volunteers, who put their personal life and death aside and focused only on completing the task, was reflected, and this spirit deeply shocked me. Young people in today's society, shouldn't you feel ashamed? Encountering a little setback, you seek death and life, how can you live up to the Chinese compatriots who bravely sacrificed their lives for the new China in history?

The fighter jets were still strafing in the air. In the distance, artillery platoon leader Zhang Fei and artillery squad leader Guan Lei were operating the cannons to pursue the fighter jets. Guan Lei seized Zhang Fei's No. 1 gun position, fired the remaining few cannons, and was blown to pieces by the enemy, leaving only his tobacco pouch rolling on the ground. Seeing that Guan Lei had sacrificed himself, Zhang Fei led his artillery team, lit a fire, and attracted the enemy fighter jets. After a fierce battle, Zhang Fei was seen crawling up, covered in blood, with his left arm and right leg blown off. Zhang Fei bandaged his bloody stumps, hung the remaining cannon around his neck, leaned on a branch, came to the No. 1 gun position, sat on the gun mount, spitting blood, lit a fire, and prepared for battle. The American fighter jets saw the fire and strafed. Zhang Fei stepped down, and the American fighter jet was blown up. With his last strength, he blew the whistle around his neck, as if telling Lao Guan: "We hit it." Zhang Fei sacrificed himself in this way. Zhang Fei's heroic deeds left a deep impression on my heart. Guan Lei and Zhang Fei were not fighting for the No. 1 gun position; they were fighting for the most dangerous task, just to protect their comrades. This fearless spirit is worth learning from. In life, some people fight to the death for fame and fortune; some people disregard their family affection for money; it is really shameful. We should learn from the selfless dedication and selflessness of the Chinese People's Volunteers. The American reconnaissance plane flew over the Lake Changjin, and the pilot saw that the volunteers had not gone to repair the bridge, but had formed a human ladder formation, with the person on top carrying the plank, and the main force carrying guns and ammunition continuing to cross the bridge. The American pilot told the command center: "Destroying the bridge is useless; the main force has already crossed the bridge, and nothing can stop them from crossing the bridge!" From the American pilot's eyes, it can be seen that he was deeply moved by the fearless spirit of the Chinese People's Volunteers. Looking at this human ladder, the waves submerged their heads, but they remained motionless. I was very sad, and tears welled up in my eyes. During the war years, the Chinese people were truly suffering.

In this battle, the Chinese People's Volunteers on the battlefield were all seventeen or eighteen-year-old young men. Their lives had just begun. In the face of national difficulties, they stepped forward, their blood boiling. They possessed the iron will and fearless spirit. As the national anthem sings: We are united as one, braving the enemy's fire, advancing! Using our flesh and blood to build a new Great Wall! Our current happy life is hard-won, bought with the blood of countless heroes. For us in the 21st century, the difficulties we face are but a drop in the ocean compared to the situation of the Chinese People's Volunteers on the battlefield. What reason do we have not to cherish life, what reason do we have not to be hardworking and simple, and what reason do we have not to work diligently?
