The Jiugongbu Ruimeng Expressway steel arch frame and small pipe processing plant officially commenced operation

At 8 am on June 19th, the steel arch frame and small pipe processing plant for the Ruili-Menglian Expressway project of the Ninth Engineering Project Department officially commenced operation. The project overcame numerous difficulties from the start of construction to its official launch, taking 3 months to successfully complete the production launch according to the schedule.

The Ruili-Menglian Expressway Second General Contractor (Ruili to Menglian Expressway K116+560~K196+745 section) has a total length of 80.185 kilometers. It is built to the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour and a total roadbed width of 25.50 meters; four connecting lines are built to four townships in addition to the main line. The main line starts at K116+560 in Xiangda Town, Longling County, Baoshan City, connecting to the Dehong-Menglian Expressway SJ-1 section, and ends at K196+745 in Mengpeng Town, Zhenkang County, Lincang City. There are 3 extra-long tunnels totaling 22699 meters, and 19 long, medium, and short tunnels totaling 12401 meters; the processing plant is responsible for the processing, production, and transportation of tunnel steel arch frames and small pipes for the Pingda extra-long tunnel (6.895km), Mengpeng extra-long tunnel (12.205km), and Mengnuo tunnel (2.555km). This project is an important part of the "five vertical, five horizontal, one side, two rings, and twenty connecting" expressway network on one side (border expressway) in Yunnan Province, as planned in the long-term expressway network layout of the revised Yunnan Provincial Highway Network Plan (2016-2030), and is also a key project in Yunnan Province's 13th Five-Year Plan for expressway construction. As an important part of China's construction facing the South Asia and Southeast Asia radiation center, its construction will help enhance the vitality of the development of the border opening-up economic zone, improve the level of development and opening-up, benefit the construction of the demonstration zone for ethnic unity and progress, facilitate the development of rich tourism resources in the border areas, and contribute to building a harmonious border of good-neighborly friendship.

The steel arch frame and small pipe processing plant project for the Ruili-Menglian Expressway is the second steel arch frame and small pipe processing plant project of the Ninth Engineering Project Department in the Baoshan area. The project plans to produce 30,000 tons of steel arch frames, and many improvements have been made in the factory building planning. The factory area zoning has made bold adjustments to the previous steel arch frame factory planning schemes, placing the material storage area in the middle of the factory building, and arranging the production line from the raw material storage area to both sides of the factory building, greatly shortening the travel distance of the gantry crane. By reducing the travel distance and frequency of use of the gantry crane, the probability of crane lifting accidents is reduced, ensuring production safety and improving production efficiency.
