In the three years since joining the company, he has been involved in six projects. During those three years of constantly rushing deadlines, his sweat has been shed in every corner of the frontline construction sites. From Qiaojia Baihetan to Menglian Mangxin; from Menglian to Pu'er Longsheng Road; from Pu'er to Kunming Yun Copper; from Kunming to Guangdong Jiulong; from Guangdong to Yibin Jiang'an, his face has appeared in many projects, from unfamiliar to familiar. From north to south, from west to east, the seasons change, the journey is long, but his face never seems to show fatigue, as if fueled by youthful fire. He has become accustomed to the busy, urgent, and upwardly mobile atmosphere of rushing deadlines on frontline projects.
Whether as a construction worker or a safety officer, he is willing to learn and work hard, without any carelessness. Or as a materials worker, he is diligent and meticulous. "Knowing one's shortcomings and striving for progress, looking to the distant mountains and moving forward" is a fitting description of him. He is Yang Bingrong, a construction worker in the Eighth Engineering Project Department.

Learning in Qiaojia
2020 In August of that year, he had just joined the company, and it happened to be the time when the Qiaojia relocation project was rushing to meet deadlines. To ensure the smooth completion of the relocation deadline and allow residents to move into their new homes as soon as possible, he carried his toolbox every day, carrying various accessories, and worked with his colleagues to replace faucets, change light bulbs, troubleshoot wiring faults, and fix leaks, house by house. Sometimes, he had to climb a 17-story building several times a day. Later, 11 plots in the Menggu resettlement area needed to be electrified and lit. He also participated in the installation and power supply of high and low voltage. In one month, he wore out two pairs of work shoes and lost his right big toenail in the 11 plots, but no one knew about it at the time. No one knew that he put paper in his shoes every day to prevent the pain of prolonged friction. In the cold winter weather, he worked hard with the manufacturer's testing personnel, working continuously for three days and two nights without rest. The blood stained the paper and socks in his shoes, but even so, he never complained of pain or tiredness. He still looked at drawings, went to the site, and worked overtime with the workers, from laying a single cable to laying tens of thousands of cables, and then completing the pressure resistance and insulation tests of the relevant terminal heads. He constantly summarized good work methods, learned new knowledge, and accumulated good work experience. By the time the streetlights were installed and powered on in Qiaoyu, Tiansheng Liangzi, Beimen, and Qili resettlement areas, he was already able to work independently. Although there was a lot of cross-operation on site, and the construction of buildings and roads seriously damaged the cable protection pipes, which greatly affected the cable laying, he was not afraid of difficulties and led the workers to work on cable installation overnight, finally getting all the resettlement points lit up before the deadline, illuminating the dark nights of the local residents.
Hardship in Menglian
2021 In July of that year, when he received the news of support for the Menglian project, he was on his way to a new project, but he didn't have time to think twice and could only rush to Menglian with only light clothing.
As the on-site materials worker for the Menglian project, he had to be familiar with the site environment. If the various construction vehicles, material transport vehicles, management personnel vehicles, and concrete pouring vehicles were not properly arranged, it would cause traffic jams. A wrong turn or a U-turn could take several hours or even a day, delaying the progress of material supply on site. He also had to control the time of material entry. At that time, Menglian was in the rainy season, with continuous rainfall for more than ten days. The environment was harsh, the time was tight, the task was heavy, the site was limited, and it was difficult to store materials. Coupled with the impact of the epidemic, the procurement of materials was inconvenient, which brought great difficulties to material transportation and entry. Therefore, he could only check materials and organize the storage area at night when the workers were resting. At that time, he only rested for two hours a day, or even less than two hours. Until the end of the Menglian project, he never had a bed to sleep on, only able to doze off on the muddy ground leaning against a pipe. Occasionally sitting on a stool would feel like a luxury. Not to mention eating a hot meal. At mealtimes, he always let the truck drivers who transported the materials eat first. When truck drivers arrived early, he would give away his own meal. He did this for 15 days. During the entire construction period of the Menglian project, the most he ate was instant noodles, dry-chewing the noodles without extra hot water or time to wait for them to soften.
He said the conditions were very difficult. The 23-year-old young man looked 20 years older. Was it hard? Very hard. Was it tiring? Very tiring. But he said that the leaders of the company and the project department were all using shovels and tools to pour concrete, so we couldn't complain about hardship or tiredness. Youth is for hardship and work. The spirit of the Plateau Iron Army was perfectly interpreted at that moment.
Practice in Pu'er
2021 In August of that year, he was officially transferred to the Pu'er Longsheng Road integrated pipe gallery project. Faced with land acquisition and demolition; frequent cross-operation of on-site installation and civil engineering; conflicts between design drawings and elevations and civil engineering drawings and elevations; conflicts between traffic safety components, streetlights, and surrounding buildings; abundant groundwater and serious subsidence in the section from Simao River to Silan Monument; and complex underground pipelines such as rainwater and sewage pipes, water pipes, and gas pipes, he remained calm and orderly in completing the construction work. Cooperating with two other colleagues, he delivered the Longsheng Road on time and to the required quality, ensuring the opening of the Pu'er station forecourt.
After experiencing several large projects, he was seconded from the Pu'er project to the Yunnan Copper Industry major overhaul project to learn about safety management. As a safety supervisor, he strictly and meticulously familiarized himself with construction risks and safety hazards and diligently studied safety management regulations. Later, when he was seconded to the Guangdong Jiulong project, his safety awareness had significantly improved. In the project management process, he closely integrated production and safety, demonstrating his ability to integrate what he saw and learned into what he did and managed.
Application in Yibin
2022 In September of that year, he started his first industrial project as the electrical and instrumentation supervisor. The Yibin project had a large construction volume, tight deadlines, many on-site personnel, a lot of high-altitude work, a wide range of construction operations, and many types of on-site materials. During the day, he had to run to four workshops alone, coordinating the work of all parties. At night, he had to work overtime to prepare material plans, write work tickets, write visas, organize construction progress, and arrange work plans. There were more than 300 workers in the electrical and instrumentation professions alone, and with 300 workers working simultaneously, he could only arrive at the site early to hold pre-shift meetings, meticulously explaining all aspects of the work. Even with unclear and ambiguous project drawings; design errors; many omissions and conflicts; and many additional sporadic drawings and systems, he was still able to lead the team to complete the installation of more than 1.9 million meters of cable. From a construction worker who only knew how to carry a toolbox and install faucets to a construction worker who could fully manage the construction operations of two professions, it was a qualitative breakthrough, a leap in ability, and a rich accumulation of methods and experience. He often used the people around him to motivate himself, asking for advice from the company's masters and learning from excellent colleagues. His notebooks were filled with notes, reflecting his humility and self-encouragement.
Yang Bingrong is such a person, taking one step at a time, doing things steadily, not being lazy or slack because of his youth, and not being ambitious because of his experience. The ambition of a young scholar, to strive for great achievements, can only be realized through one's own efforts and practice. Only by laying a solid foundation can one go further.
