Technical Operation Expert Representative

Kong Chuida
Machinist, Industrial Workers Center
I am Kong Chuida from the Industrial Workers Center, and I am a machinist. Since joining the workforce, I have participated in the construction of the Yibin Defang Times project, the Qujing JinkoSolar project, the Yuxi YuKun project, and the Tibet Huatai Long project. I am honored to receive the "Technical Operation Expert" award, and I am grateful for the recognition and affirmation from the company's leaders and colleagues.
The Yibin Defang Times project was my first project after joining the workforce. On my way to the project, I was full of anticipation but also worried about whether I could handle the job. When I arrived at the project, it was the busiest and most time-sensitive period. I followed my master to carry out the installation work, and I was very busy and tired every day. Many times I thought about giving up. My master often guided me, saying that as a technician, one must be calm, focused, persistent, and cautious. He said, "I have been doing this for decades and I can persevere, why can't you?" So I persevered. What touched me most at that time was that most of my colleagues were recent graduates, and the experienced masters would unreservedly pass on their life's work to us. When faced with technical difficulties, we would gather together to discuss and then put it into practice, ultimately overcoming the challenges. No matter when or where, we would always work together as one, especially during rush periods. We worked overtime every day, but everyone was still full of energy and without a single complaint.
During the Qujing project, I watched my master install a water pump. It looked simple, but when I tried it myself, I found it wasn't easy at all. At that time, my master told me not to rush, especially when adjusting the coupling. Each adjustment required repeated instrument readings, sometimes spending two hours repeatedly doing this until the concentricity of the coupling was adjusted within the error range. At the time, I found this work very tedious, but when I saw the water pump I adjusted running normally after being powered on, I was overjoyed. The effort always pays off; although it's slow, it's all worthwhile.
What impressed me most was the Yuxi YuKun Steel project. On that project, my master mainly led us in installing a 15-megawatt steam turbine. My master told me that a steam turbine is a very precise piece of equipment and requires careful installation. When grinding the base shims, I thought that simply polishing them until smooth and flat would be enough. But when my master told me that after polishing, I needed to use a level with a two-thread error to level it, I understood what he meant by "precision." In the end, through learning by doing, I gradually mastered the installation steps of the steam turbine. In addition, because the YuKun project frequently required lifting equipment, I also learned a lot about lifting knowledge and obtained a lifting signal worker certificate.
You can't grow strong pines in a greenhouse, and you can't train sailors to brave the storm in calm waters. I honed my will through hard work and perseverance, and I forged my skills through overcoming difficulties. In the Tibet Huatai Long project, I started to complete work independently. Faced with harsh climatic conditions, I always adhered to the work attitude of "lack of oxygen but not lack of spirit, high altitude, higher realm" to complete my work. The Tibet Huatai Long project was a great challenge for me because I needed to complete the installation of a 40-meter-diameter thickener. From studying the drawings to the entire installation process, I explored my way forward step by step. Hard work pays off, and eventually, the thickener was successfully installed.
Since starting work, with the help of leaders, masters, and colleagues, I have overcome numerous challenges, and in this process, I have gradually become familiar with and mastered the skills of this machinist profession. In daily life, I also constantly feel the warmth of this big family of the Industrial Workers Center. A tall building rises from the ground. As a new-era industrial worker, I am steadily moving towards my goal. The road ahead is full of unknowns and twists and turns, but my determination to forge ahead and dare to struggle has not been extinguished. Next, I will combine my ideals with my work, with passionate enthusiasm, a dedicated and selfless spirit, and a proactive character, working steadily and silently cultivating, using enthusiasm and diligence as a pen to compose a brilliant chapter of youth. Finally, I wish the company continued prosperity and progress, with unity and cooperation to create even greater glories.
