In the First Engineering Project Department, there is a "Master Zhu", who has used his 34 years of work experience to interpret the persistence and tenderness of an overseas builder. He is Zhu Yaxun.

Hard work and dedication demonstrate the quality of persistence

2009 Year, for the company, is a year of great significance, the company began to enter the Lao market. As the vanguard of overseas engineering construction, they used hard work to demonstrate the spirit of the "Plateau Iron Army", and Zhu Yaxun, as a member of the vanguard, demonstrated the "craftsman spirit" with his superb electrical installation technology. Before this, Zhu Yaxun had participated in the construction of many projects, including the Simao Paper Mill, Xuanwei Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant, and Zanyihua Mountain Synthetic Ammonia Installation Project in China, accumulating rich experience in electrical installation construction. Everyone says: "Construction people are an iron camp, and the soldiers are flowing." Zhu Yaxun himself also said: "I am a brick, wherever I am needed, I will move." When the Laos Jiaxi Potassium Salt Mine project needed an electrical construction worker, Zhu Yaxun actively and enthusiastically signed up to go. When he first arrived in a foreign land (Laos), Zhu Yaxun and the project team faced various challenges. Language barriers, cultural differences, hot weather, management of foreign workers... these were all difficulties he needed to overcome. But he never retreated, actively learning the local language, and communicating with foreign workers in his work. From cable laying and wiring, to electrical debugging, and to联动运行, he personally participated in everything, demonstrating the tenacity and perseverance of an overseas builder.

2023 Year, in the Laos Kaiyuan Potassium Salt Mine project, Zhu Yaxun was responsible for the installation of electrical instruments. In order to complete the construction tasks assigned by the client on time and in quantity, in the early stage of the project, he carefully prepared the construction plan, formulated the material plan, and made scientific arrangements for personnel, materials, and equipment to ensure the smooth progress of the subsequent installation work. During the construction process, he strengthened the management of safety, progress, and quality. To ensure safe production, Zhu Yaxun organized a pre-shift meeting at 6:30 every morning to deploy the daily installation work, repeatedly explain the potential hazards in the day's work, check the protective measures on the construction site, and repeatedly urged foreign workers to wear safety helmets, safety belts, and protective shoes, and to correctly use labor protection supplies. During the peak period of project construction, he took the lead and actively took the lead in organizing overtime to ensure the progress of the project. He actively processed process data and collected image data, providing guarantees for later settlement and data transfer. In the final stage of the project, he remained on site, compiling handover data and cooperating with the project manager to complete the project settlement work.

After eight months of hard work, he led the team to complete all the contents of the electrical instrument installation of the Laos Kaiyuan Potassium Salt Mine project, installing 8 sets of 2500kVA dry-type transformers, 38 sets of 10kV high-voltage cabinets, 76 sets of low-voltage distribution cabinets, laying 150,000 meters of various cables, laying 3,000 meters of cable trays, installing more than 1,000 sets of lighting fixtures, and installing and debugging 280 sets of various instruments such as temperature, flow, and pressure. The project was successfully put into operation for the first time, and zero quality and safety accidents were achieved. He was also highly praised by the client for his outstanding work performance.

A strong man also has tenderness

In life, Zhu Yaxun is a person with delicate emotions, a husband and father full of tenderness. Despite his busy work, he always cares about his family and often shares his daily life in Laos with his family through phone calls and videos. Every evening, he would sit quietly by the window of his office, gazing at the distant stars, missing his family. He would open WeChat and video chat with his family, expressing his longing and concern. The online video became the most precious link between him and his family.

2023 During the Spring Festival of the year, it was the peak construction period of the Laos Kaiyuan project. Facing the project production task node in April, the project department worked together with one heart and one mind, vowing to successfully put the project into operation for the first time. The electrical instrument engineering that Zhu Yaxun was responsible for was the last link on site, and the importance of the responsibility was self-evident. On the evening of the 29th of the lunar New Year, Zhu Yaxun had just arranged the on-site duty matters, thinking about the resumption of work on the third day of the lunar New Year, when his phone rang. He gently tapped it, and his lovely daughter's smiling face immediately appeared on the screen. Those bright eyes seemed to penetrate the screen and reach his heart. "Dad, are you still in Laos?" his daughter's crisp and pleasant voice came, with a hint of concern. Zhu Yaxun's lips involuntarily curled up, his eyes full of love: "Yes, baby. I just finished my work here and was thinking of calling you." He paused slightly, a hint of helplessness and apology flashing across his face: "I may not be able to go home to celebrate the New Year with you this year, I'm sorry." However, his words did not bring silence or embarrassment. "Well, Dad. We know your work is important, and Mom, my brother, and I all understand and support you. You must take care of yourself while you're away, and we'll all be waiting for you at home. You must come to school to see me next time you have a holiday." His daughter blinked her eyes, her face filled with firmness and trust. Although the father and daughter were thousands of miles apart at this special moment, their hearts were closely connected. At this special moment, they used the simplest language and the most sincere emotions to wish each other a happy New Year in advance. Today, Zhu Yaxun is still fighting hard on the Laos project, his figure still busy and firm. This year marks his 34th year working for the company. With his rigorous and responsible work attitude, profound and solid professional skills, tenacious fighting spirit, and positive and optimistic attitude towards life, he has influenced batches of young people who have just entered the workplace on the project. He unreservedly imparts electrical instrument installation technology to young people, igniting the persistent pursuit of the new generation of young people in engineering construction with the hard-working craftsman spirit of the older generation.

The young people on the project all deeply respect this master craftsman. Whenever Zhu Yaxun is mentioned, their eyes sparkle with admiration and gratitude. His apprentice, Xiao Zhao, said: “Master Zhu is not only highly skilled, but more importantly, his rigorous and responsible work attitude and passion for his work have deeply touched me. Whenever I couldn't understand the drawings, he would always take out paper and pen, draw sketches, answer my questions, and have me compare the drawings with the on-site construction methods to deepen my memory. At work, Master Zhu is also very strict with us. He takes us to the construction site every day before the workers to check the safety of the on-site construction. After work every day, he carefully convenes a post-work meeting to summarize the day's construction progress, quality, and safety. He carefully checks the construction logs we write and requires us to summarize and reflect on our daily work. In his spare time, Master Zhu also organizes us to communicate and chat, and we all work together to make our hometown food. Working with Master Zhu is fulfilling and happy.”

In addition to Xiao Zhao, a group of young apprentices also remember Zhu Yaxun's help. They graduated from technical school in July and were sent to Jiu Long Paper Industry project for internship. At that time, it was the critical period of electrical instrument installation of the project. Zhu Yaxun led them to learn from cable laying, teaching them how to correctly wear safety protective equipment, how to implement safety protection measures, how to pull cables, how to handle turns, and methods of cable binding, fixing, and marking. Through practical training, the apprentices not only mastered the methods of cable laying but also actively learned from Master Zhu about cable joint making, switchgear wiring, etc. Zhu Yaxun always demonstrated personally and patiently guided them, allowing these young apprentices to learn in practice and grow in challenges. For these young apprentices, Zhu Yaxun's help not only enabled them to make significant progress in technology but also taught them how to change roles, how to face difficulties and solve problems, and how to ensure safety at the construction site. All of this will have a profound impact on their future careers.

In Zhu Yaxun's view, every young person is the future and hope of the company. He often tells his apprentices: “Technology can be learned, but more importantly, one must have a willingness to learn and constantly improve. Only by constantly challenging oneself can one achieve greater success in work.” He also emphasized that as a skilled worker, one must not only have solid professional knowledge but also have the practical ability to solve problems and the courage to innovate.

Zhu Yaxun, with his persistence in engineering construction, his unwavering dedication to the company and his family, and his gentle nature, has written an ordinary story of an overseas builder.
