The China-Laos Expressway has a key geographical location and is of great significance to the construction of China's International Land-Sea Corridor facing the Indian Ocean. After the completion of the entire line, it will only take 4 hours from the Mohan/Boten port to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, saving 14 hours compared to the previous 18 hours. It will also be possible to reach Vientiane, the capital of Laos, from Kunming, Yunnan on the same day, which will greatly shorten transportation time, reduce transportation costs, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of bilateral trade, providing huge space and strong impetus for China's foreign trade development towards Southeast Asia.
