The Chu Xiong Yunnan Nonferrous Metals 6.5 MW steam turbine of the Second Engineering Project Department successfully grid-connected for the first time after overhaul.

Recently, the 6.5 MW steam turbine for waste heat power generation at Yunnan Nonferrous Metals successfully generated electricity and connected to the Southern Power Grid. This step is the final test of the entire overhaul work. The successful power generation and grid connection of the 6.5 MW steam turbine marks the successful completion of the project, providing strong support for the resumption of production at the Yunnan Nonferrous Metals plant.

It is understood that the overhaul task of the steam turbine was very arduous, including the disassembly, inspection, and adjustment of the main unit, the disassembly and parameter adjustment of the generator rotor, and the overhaul of important equipment such as the oil tank and oil pipes. The aim was to ensure the safe and stable operation of the steam turbine and maximize the efficiency of waste heat power generation. The project entered the overhaul phase after shutdown and cooling on November 10, 2023. After more than a month of intensive construction, the overhaul was successfully completed and accepted.
