Since joining the workforce in 2017, I have been working as a construction worker on the Surabaya, Indonesia project, participating in all stages of the project's construction. Three years have passed quickly, and I have watched myself grow continuously, transforming from an unknowing university student into a qualified engineering professional. During this process, the greatest gain has been a new understanding of engineering construction, and my mindset and behavior have also improved. This experience has also greatly helped my future work. Below are my work reflections from these three years.

I. Achievements and Growth
As my first project after joining the company, the Surabaya project is destined to lay a solid foundation for my future work. When I first arrived at the project site, the entire area was still barren, with pile drivers working hard to reinforce the foundation, and my work career began there. From initially familiarizing myself with drawings and calculating engineering quantities to subsequent material procurement, processing, installation, and final acceptance, the entire complete workflow has given me deep reflection, from my initial ignorance of the work to my current proficiency. This is undoubtedly a significant chapter in my professional career. During this period, due to adjustments in the project's organizational structure, the project transitioned from simply being responsible for equipment installation to involving all aspects of steel structure work. Although I am not proficient in every aspect, it has allowed me to learn more broadly about the work content required for each position in the entire construction process.
The Surabaya, Indonesia project, being an overseas project, involves local subcontractors and labor teams during construction. Although there is a translator, due to the specialized nature of engineering English, some content cannot be effectively conveyed to the subcontractors through translation. Therefore, communicating directly with subcontractors in English became a better option, which also improved my English proficiency.
In this process, due to multiple simultaneously started disciplines, large workload, and tight deadlines, coordinating and communicating with other subcontractors has become a daily task. Each discipline considers its own work content, and how to arrange its own work area to ensure the overall project schedule has also become one of our essential lessons.
II. Shortcomings and Deficiencies
In these three years of work, my biggest shortcoming is in the area of professional qualification examinations. Secondly, I still lack coordination and cooperation with other units. Finally, my professional knowledge is not comprehensive enough. These shortcomings have allowed me to re-examine and reflect on myself, and I will continue to improve in my future work and study.
III. Future Plans
First, actively obtain certifications to further enhance my professional knowledge. Second, continue to learn from senior colleagues the skills and techniques used in construction that may not be found in textbooks, and diligently implement them in daily work. Third, in the next project, try to independently take charge of a certain part of the work, do my best in the process, and continuously improve my overall quality.
