Working late into the night to catch up on progress, overtime to meet deadlines - a chronicle of the Qigongbu Shizong LNG gasification station project

　　It was past 11 pm, yet the construction site of the Shizong County City Natural Gas Utilization Project LNG Gasification Station remained brightly lit. The sounds of welding, grinding, and cutting were constant. Under the lights, workers, drenched in sweat, toiled away with the single goal of completing the project and handing it over to the client before the deadline.

　　The Shizong County City Natural Gas Utilization Project LNG Gasification Station is located in the Fengxiang Industrial Park of Shizong County. Covering approximately 15 mu (approximately 1 hectare), it has a maximum hourly gas supply capacity of 20,000 m³ and includes civil works, process engineering, electrical engineering, water supply and drainage, fire protection, communications, HVAC, and other related facilities. The total investment in the project is approximately 17.5 million yuan.

　　After receiving this project, faced with the challenges of a tight construction schedule, continuous work, hot weather, heavy rain, and equipment supply, the project management and construction personnel worked tirelessly and without hesitation, creating a wave of construction activity on site.

　　“Completing the Shizong LNG Gasification Station on time and to a high standard is a solemn promise from Qigongbu to Yuntou Quyan. We will meticulously organize the project to ensure timely completion, create profits for Quyan, and contribute to the further expansion of the petrochemical construction field by Er'an.” At the project coordination meeting at the end of June, Qi Gongbu manager Guan Yanguang expressed the project team's confidence and determination to complete the Shizong County City Natural Gas Utilization Project LNG Gasification Station on time and to a high standard to the leaders of Yuntou Quyan.

　　To fulfill this solemn promise, during the construction process, Qigongbu optimized the construction plan, organized a construction campaign, and pushed the project forward in a tense and orderly manner.

　　Overcoming adverse weather conditions. After entering the site at the end of June, the project encountered continuous rainy weather. The continuous rain caused the site to become soft and the roads muddy, making excavator and personnel work particularly difficult. After the rain stopped and the sun came out, the site was still full of muddy potholes. Throughout the construction process, the workers' clothes were either soaked by rain or drenched in sweat under the scorching sun. To ensure the smooth progress of the construction, the project department welded five temporary rain shelters. The shelters provided protection from both sun and rain, solving the problem of welding in rainy weather and providing shade for the workers.

　　Reasonable arrangement of construction procedures. To ensure that the material arrival plan was as consistent as possible with the main progress nodes, the project management team gave a thorough construction briefing to the workers before the start of each procedure, avoiding rework due to unreasonable construction and delaying the already tight schedule. Every evening, the project management team summarized the day's work and, based on weather forecasts, arranged the next day's work plan, making the most of both sunny and rainy days to avoid wasted time due to weather conditions. The gasification station required welding a large number of pipe joints. To prevent non-destructive testing from affecting the installation progress, the project department rushed to weld the joints during the day and set up temporary platforms for non-destructive testing at night, saving time in the process.

　　Deployment of personnel to ensure quality and safety. Due to the continuous and intense construction, the workers were fatigued. Although good food and shift rest were provided, safety accidents were still easy to occur at the construction site. In view of this, Qigongbu assigned a full-time safety officer to supervise safety work on site, and other management personnel on the project also took on the responsibilities of safety officers, working together to ensure the safe progress of the project. The largest installation at the gasification station was the storage tanks. To ensure the safe installation of two 100 m³ LNG cryogenic storage tanks weighing 32.9 tons each, Qigongbu invited Master Liu Sijie, the company's Yunling chief technician. Under his command, the two tanks were successfully installed in their designated positions. Qigongbu also assigned a project manager with extensive experience in gasification station construction to stay on site to promptly resolve technical problems encountered during construction, ensuring construction quality and progress.

　　Joint efforts of the front line and the rear. During the construction process, Qigongbu's safety department and materials department communicated promptly with the project manager, safety officers, and material officers on the front line, ensuring that the necessary labor protection supplies and equipment materials were delivered to the project site in a timely manner and providing guidance on NC entry work to ensure the normal progress of the project. The manager and deputy secretary of Qigongbu visited the site to have talks and meals with the construction management personnel, checking on their food and accommodation conditions and conveying the organization's greetings and care to ensure that everyone would continue to work with enthusiasm to complete the project successfully.

　　“Thousands of washes and thousands of sieves, though hard work, only then can the gold be obtained.” Through the joint efforts of all the management and construction personnel of the project department, the gasification station successfully passed the pressure test on August 14. On the 15th, the Qujing Quality Supervision Bureau came to the site for quality supervision and successfully passed the pressure test. The client leaders who participated in the quality supervision gave high praise to Qigongbu. The employees of the project department used their actions to interpret the solemn oath of “completing the Shizong LNG gasification station on time and to a high standard.” They fully demonstrated the spirit of the plateau iron army, using their hard work to write a brilliant chapter in the cooperation between the company and Yuntou Quyan.
