Li Xiubo: My Heart is with the Party, Rooted in the Ordinary

The ordinary creates the great, heroes come from the people. I really like this sentence from General Secretary Xi Jinping's 2021 New Year's address. We all yearn for the ordinary, but we are not content with the ordinary. Many ordinary people in ordinary positions do extraordinary things. In our eyes, these may be small matters of daily life, but it is these small matters of daily life that lead us to a moderately prosperous society and to strength, allowing us to grow and pursue our dreams.

In our view, ordinary people may be the most ordinary people, but the fact is not so. General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed: "The people are the heaven, the people are the earth. If we forget the people and detach ourselves from the people, we will become water without a source and a tree without roots, and we will achieve nothing." General Secretary Xi Jinping compares the people to heaven and earth, which shows that the status of the people is supreme. Chairman Mao also said in Yan'an that the relationship between the Party and the people is like the relationship between fish and water. The Communist Party is the fish, and the people are the water. There can be no fish in the water, but the fish cannot live without water! Our Party comes from the people, is born of the people, and thrives because of the people. The foundation of our Party's governance is the people. The people have chosen the Communist Party of China, which means they have chosen a Party that wholeheartedly serves the people.

From the day we were born, each of our lives is destined to be extraordinary, because we are all members who contribute to the development of the country. Whether born poor or rich, we have different growth experiences, experience different lives, and gain different insights into life. We can have today's peaceful and beautiful life because we have a strong motherland behind us and a great Communist Party of China. Our Party is silently doing extraordinary things, leading the Chinese people to stand up, become prosperous, and become strong. Everything we enjoy comes from the selfless dedication of every member of the Communist Party of China.

In my memory, the term "Communist Party of China" appeared when I was in elementary school. My grandfather watched the news every day and chatted with me about national affairs and current events. Of course, I didn't understand anything at that time, but I liked listening and was curious. Over time, I learned some things, but I only knew what it was, not why. My grandfather often mentioned the term "Communist Party," and I often heard it on TV. One day, this sentence was imprinted in my mind: "Without the Communist Party, there would be no New China today." I was curious about who the Communist Party was. Was Chairman Mao the Communist Party? New China? Is it a society without war? With these questions, my distance from our Party began to slowly close, because I had an obsession in my heart. I wanted to know what these things were and why the news broadcast was shown every day. I thought I would also become a member of the Communist Party in the future, because the great image of the Communist Party had taken root in my mind since childhood. I hope I can also become a person who is useful to society, a person who contributes my modest efforts to the development of the country.

As my horizons broadened and my knowledge grew, I gradually understood that the Communist Party of China is not a single person, but a great organization, the vanguard of the Chinese working class, and a Party that wholeheartedly serves the people. "The special-class hero who blocked the enemy's guns with his chest" Huang Jiguang; "The hero who lived forever in the flames" Qiu Shaoyun; Liu Hulan, "who lived gloriously and died gloriously"; Zhao Yiman, "the heroic woman of the Anti-Japanese War"; Yang Shan Zhou, "the living Kong Fansen"; and even today, those ordinary heroes who rushed to the front lines to fight the epidemic, they are all heroes, all extraordinary ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.

I continue to study to understand our Party and to remember my initial aspirations, and I continue to make progress. My heart is full of gratitude, and my initial aspirations have never changed. The deeper I study our Party, the more determined I am to become a qualified Communist Party member. For the sake of our beautiful life today, for the sake of our peaceful era today, and for the prosperity and strength of our motherland. They guard the safety of the motherland with unwavering dedication, giving without asking for anything in return, sacrificing themselves for righteousness.

My heart is with the Party, rooted in the ordinary. Born ordinary, growing from the ordinary, feeling the greatness of our Party from the ordinary, understanding the extraordinary of our Party from the ordinary, and understanding those generations of extraordinary Communists. Every great achievement is based on ordinary positions and work in life; some people work for work, while others work to find the meaning of life and the value of life. Every extraordinary life is based on the accumulation of ordinary days. By consistently doing small daily tasks well, every ordinary person can achieve an extraordinary life, and every ordinary job can create extraordinary achievements. Only in the ordinary can we be down-to-earth and find the answers we truly seek.

Today, I have successfully joined our Party organization. I clearly remember the path I have taken, and I have never forgotten my original aspirations. I will continue to move forward with the footsteps of millions of ordinary people, learning the spirit of struggle and the wisdom of millions of ordinary laborers. I believe that as long as all the people of all ethnic groups in our country unite as one, the ordinary of each person will eventually achieve a great cause.
