Provincial joint research team investigates the Group and studies the promotion of the implementation of the suggestions of the National People's Congress deputies

5 On July 23, Ma Defang, a first-level inspector of the Provincial Department of Transportation, led a joint research team from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the Provincial Department of Commerce, and the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office to conduct a survey on the progress of the proposal to "accelerate the construction of the International Land-Sea Corridor facing the Indian Ocean and promote the implementation of the remaining section of the China-Laos Expressway project." They also held a meeting with Chen Zujun, a national people's congress representative, secretary of the group's party committee, and chairman of the board, and Du Xiaoguang, a national people's congress representative, chief design supervisor of the group, chairman of the design institute company, and chief architect. Chen Zouxuang, deputy secretary of the group's party committee and chairman of the trade union, also attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Ma Defang.

At the meeting, the research team learned in detail about the basic situation, characteristics, significance, implementation content, and achievements of the preliminary work of the group's China-Laos Expressway project's last three sections, as well as the current problems and matters requiring support.

The construction of China's radiation center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia is a historical mission and political responsibility entrusted to Yunnan by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. High-quality promotion of the proposal to "accelerate the construction of the International Land-Sea Corridor facing the Indian Ocean and promote the implementation of the remaining section of the China-Laos Expressway project" to achieve practical results is an important measure to earnestly implement the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his two inspections of Yunnan, and to deeply integrate into and serve the action plan for building a China-Laos community with a shared future (2024-2028). It is of great significance for deepening China-Laos economic and trade cooperation and promoting regional connectivity.

The progress of the remaining section of the China-Laos Expressway project is related to the strategic development of Yunnan Province and even the country. It is hoped that the Construction Investment Group will further increase its efforts, strengthen communication and coordination with government departments at all levels, form a concerted effort, and strive to obtain support from relevant national ministries and commissions as soon as possible to ensure the smooth progress of the construction of the remaining section of the China-Laos Expressway project, especially the section from Mengsai to Boten. Further improve relevant mechanisms, proceed from the overall development of the country and Yunnan Province, coordinate the promotion of various preliminary work, and promote the project's progress. Deepen research, analysis, and demonstration, calculate the political, economic, development, and long-term accounts, clarify the implementation plan, formulate a feasible plan, and effectively control risks. The research team will actively coordinate with relevant provincial departments to provide necessary support and assistance for the implementation of the proposal and the advancement of the project, and make positive contributions to accelerating the construction of the International Land-Sea Corridor facing the Indian Ocean and building a China-Laos community with a shared future.

After the opening of the China-Laos Railway, the effect of the golden channel has become increasingly prominent, and economic and trade cooperation between Yunnan and Laos has become increasingly close, and the demand for interconnectivity of transportation infrastructure between the two sides has also become increasingly urgent. In 2020, the China-Laos Expressway from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, invested in, constructed, and operated by the Group, was put into operation 13 months ahead of schedule, ending the history of Laos without expressways, opening up Laos' economic artery and a new channel of happiness, and producing significant economic and social benefits. Today, the early launch of the remaining section of the China-Laos Expressway project, especially the section from Mengsai to Boten, has become the ardent expectation of the people of both China and Laos. After the completion of the project, it will form a good situation of common prosperity and mutual benefit with the China-Laos Railway, helping Laos' economic take-off with "two giant dragons," further improving the level of transportation interconnectivity between China and Laos, and effectively promoting the economic and social development of the China-Laos along-line regions. As the vanguard of Yunnan's provincial-owned enterprises "going global," the Construction Investment Group has been deeply cultivating the Laotian market for 27 years and has achieved remarkable results.
