Encounter

Originally, we were far apart, strangers to each other. But one day, at a special time, we met, and the distance between us grew closer. Slowly, we spent five years together. Looking back on when we first met, I want to say to you, "Thank you for being there."

We met in the autumn of 2018. My university days were nearing their end, and I was busy preparing for the next chapter of my life. My teacher said, "First impressions are important," so I specially bought a suit for 500 kuai from Taobao Street and prepared a carefully crafted "self-introduction" to hand out. Finally, with a try-it-out mentality, I gave you my last "self-introduction." We were such strangers then. In our first meeting, I knew little about you, and you knew nothing about me. After a week of waiting, a phone call brought us closer. I was fortunate to pass your "first test" and move on to the "second." I put on my suit and tie, hoping to make a good impression. We got to know each other better. Several classmates interviewed with me that day; they were luckier than me, receiving your invitation early, while I waited anxiously, feeling like I'd missed my chance. But just as I gave you my last "self-introduction," you gave me your last "invitation." From then on, we came together, and I felt fortunate.

Journey Together

At that time, we met through mutual selection. After our encounter, our roles changed. You became a "family head," and I became a member under your leadership. You built a platform for my growth and guided me along the way.

Having just entered society, I was like a blank sheet of paper. Sitting at my desk, I would stare out the window at the roses on the rooftop. I was like a mindless robot; I did whatever others told me to do, and after finishing, I would continue to daydream, without any initiative or proactive thinking. I watched my colleagues who joined at the same time gradually integrate into the work and find their rhythm, while I remained stagnant. I remember my first speech competition. I thought I was prepared, but when I stood on the stage with my manuscript, I got stage fright. My hands and feet trembled uncontrollably. The result was predictable; I "honorably" won first place—from the bottom. I participated in almost every speech competition in previous years, and although I never won any prizes, I was making progress. I also made many mistakes at work, but you gave me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes, allowing me to correct myself, improve myself, and grow step by step.

When I first saw you, the old building made me think, "That's it!" How naive I was! I didn't realize that the so-called "old" was actually a historical accumulation. When I saw those four large characters in red on a white background in residential areas, on highways, in villages, and in industrial zones of the city where I worked, I truly understood what you were like and what you were doing. I also realized how insignificant I was in this "big family." I remember my first project was a small project in Pu'er. Everything seemed so rudimentary, but everyone's spirit was high. Several veteran welders often held welding competitions to see who could weld better and faster. They worked overtime until 11 p.m. to meet the deadline. I sincerely admired their practical spirit. In the past five years, I have been to Dali, Honghe, and Dongguan. I have seen increasingly large projects, and the living conditions of the employees have also improved.

2019 That year was the year of the Group's standardized party branch and party building demonstration site construction. As a party affairs officer, I began to come into contact with the party, labor union, and league work of state-owned enterprises. As a "newbie," I began to learn about party affairs work, "charging" myself, learning about the "Three Meetings and One Class," party member development, organizational life meetings, party style and clean government construction, etc., involving a lot of professional knowledge, exploring and asking questions one by one. When the standardized construction of the branch was completed in 2020, and the Youth League branch won the Group's five-star Youth League branch for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023, I felt that my efforts and dedication had paid off.

We have "journeyed together" for five years, witnessing your progress step by step, and I have grown under your guidance. Now, we share a common development goal and vision. In the years to come, we will continue our journey together.

Moving Forward Together

"The road is difficult, the road is difficult, many diverging paths, where do I stand now? When the strong winds break the waves, there will be a time, to hoist the sails and cross the vast ocean." The path forward is tortuous, full of thorns and hardships, but our goals and visions are the same. As long as we have the courage to overcome the waves and the unity of "Qi," our goals will eventually be achieved.
