Since the end of 2018, the Sixth Engineering Project Department has participated in the implementation of water source protection projects and the Chenghai Basin village sewage collection and upgrading project in Yongsheng County, Lijiang City. After the implementation of the water source protection project, it will greatly protect the water source of the Yangping reservoir area. After the implementation of the Chenghai sewage collection project, it will greatly improve the water quality of Chenghai Lake and greatly improve the living environment of Yangping Township and Chenghai Town in Yongsheng County. The project department's construction management personnel, adhering to the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," have dedicated their youth and enthusiasm to improving the living environment and governing plateau lakes.

Since the commencement of construction, every employee of the water source protection project department has always adhered to the principles of "loving one's job, cherishing one's position, honesty and trustworthiness, and operating according to law," always placing project safety, quality, and schedule management in the top priority.
In the initial stages of the project, the project department faced challenges such as material entry, relocation coordination, and construction site layout. The main pipeline contract had a duration of only one month, resulting in a tight schedule and challenges posed by complex climatic conditions. Key tasks included understanding local customs and traditions, and compensation for agricultural crops. We actively coordinated and communicated with the owner and cooperated with the local village (group) relocation work.
Simultaneously with the coordination work, organizational work such as construction organization design, management system establishment, and job responsibility allocation was also carried out. Based on the preliminary organizational plan, on-site measurement and layout, and site layout were also carried out. Multiple site surveys were conducted to fully understand the actual site conditions. In conjunction with the design documents, multiple communications and coordination sessions were held with the owner, designer, and supervisor to provide reasonable suggestions on the project quantity and progress. The project camp construction, leveling and fencing of the material yard, and construction of temporary roads were completed in the shortest possible time, providing strong support for the smooth implementation of the subsequent project.
After completing the preliminary arrangements for the project, all personnel immediately engaged in the intense construction work without any slack. The sewage pipes used enhanced polyethylene spiral corrugated pipes, with DN300 and DN200 models. The ring stiffness S2 (≥8KN/m 2 ) used a hot melt connection installation process. Due to various factors, local pipeline adjustments were necessary along the line, requiring line changes, slope adjustments, the addition of sewage inspection wells, and steel pipe protection. A scene of intense activity unfolded, with a pipeline gradually extending to the county town.

Time flies. With the smooth implementation of the water source protection project, the Yongsheng project management team shifted its focus to the Chenghai Lake area.
According to the overall plan for the protection and governance of Chenghai Lake, the projects implemented in the early stage mainly included the Chenghai Lake Basin sewage collection and treatment system upgrading project and the ecological restoration (Phase I) project. The project management team mainly implemented the third construction area of the Chenghai Lake Basin sewage collection and treatment system upgrading project. The project construction content mainly included the construction of sewage collection pipelines along the villages and the installation of integrated sewage treatment equipment in each village. The locations were in various natural villages along the east coast of Chenghai Lake, from south to north: Liujiabawan Village, Qingde Village, Haiyao Village, Xilawan Village, Xiaopuzi Village, and Pumi Village.
Unlike the heat shrinkable sleeve hot melt installation process used in the water source project, the Chenghai sewage collection project used steel belt corrugated pipes with electric heat welding installation. The Chenghai sewage collection project used steel belt polyethylene pipes with DN300 and DN200 models, and a ring stiffness of S2 (≥8KN/m 2 ). Sewage flows from the household pipes to the sewage collection branch pipes, then to the main sewage pipeline, and finally to the integrated sewage treatment plant for discharge as reclaimed water.
After the commencement of construction, the Chenghai sewage collection project department continued to carry forward the spirit of hard work and perseverance, using the iron discipline of the plateau army to regulate project management. Summarizing the experience of similar projects and combining the characteristics of this project, a management system for project safety, quality, schedule, and cost control was established. The main characteristics of the Chenghai sewage collection project are: the pipeline is laid close to the houses of local residents, the roads are narrow, and material transportation is difficult. Since the commencement of construction, we have actively coordinated with relevant departments and completed the archiving of existing house images in advance, laying a solid foundation for future coordination work.
In the initial stages of the project, the challenges facing the project department were: firstly, narrow roads and high coordination difficulty, including the planning of household branch pipe lines and the location of small square wells; secondly, most household branch pipes and small square wells were located at the entrances of local residents, increasing the difficulty of communication and coordination. After multiple coordination sessions with the owner, the project department successfully advanced the work by conducting door-to-door work. Thirdly, the village roads in the project construction area were narrow, and excavation of household pipe trenches and transportation of drainage pipes relied entirely on manual labor. Despite these difficulties, the project department staff worked together to overcome them and steadily advance the project.
In the later stages of the project, to cooperate with the manufacturer in completing the initial fungal cultivation of the integrated sewage treatment equipment, the project department personnel worked day and night on-site to adjust the drainage of the regulating pool, successfully cultivating the fungi, ensuring normal equipment operation, and achieving sewage treatment results. As each work point was gradually completed, the clear water flowing from the outlet of each piece of equipment was a testament to our hard work.

Since the commencement of construction, the Yongsheng project has had no safety accidents, and the project has progressed smoothly. From the establishment of safety management systems to the three-level safety education of on-site personnel, the wearing of personal protective equipment, safety warning education, safety briefings, road maintenance management, and the establishment of safety data records, comprehensive supervision of project safety has promoted project safety.
In terms of technical quality management, all personnel have always followed the design drawings and quality acceptance standards for construction management, closely focusing on the quality policy, quality objectives, and related assurance measures for dynamic quality management. In addition to establishing technical management systems, various data records, and on-site quality inspections, the project department organized all personnel to learn about the performance, installation processes, and common quality defects of enhanced polyethylene corrugated pipes and steel wire mesh composite pipes, the structural processes of new integrated fiberglass reinforced polymer (GRP) prefabricated pump stations, and the operation processes of new integrated treatment equipment. A research project on "Maximum Burial Depth of Enhanced Polyethylene Spiral Corrugated Pipes" and a corresponding utility model patent project were also established. The research summarized the material properties of corrugated pipes, established a model to analyze the burial depth of the pipe when 5% deformation occurs under static and dynamic loads, and summarized the relationship between burial depth and upper dynamic load, which was used to guide the later operation of the project. Through continuous innovative technical management, solid technical strength was transformed into the driving force for high-quality project control.
After the successful completion of the project, the project department's construction organization and implementation capabilities in the municipal sewage collection and treatment sector were comprehensively improved. The experience gained, particularly in the understanding of the structural processes of integrated equipment, the installation of steel belt corrugated pipes, and on-site coordination, can provide guidance for similar projects in the future.
In terms of construction period management, based on the overall schedule and combined with the on-site construction progress and work content, weekly and monthly schedules are prepared. The construction schedule is adjusted multiple times based on key nodes, and the project implementation phase is scientifically and reasonably controlled to ensure completion within the contractual period and fulfill the commitments to the client.

After more than a year of hard work, all the production and domestic sewage in Yangping Township has been diverted into the county's urban sewage pipe network. In the Yangping reservoir area, which is a first-level water source protection area, the sewage is no longer visible, the black water in front of and behind houses has disappeared, the new greenery at the entrance is even greener, and the streams are clearer.
The lake and mountains in the morning mist are hazy and charming. The crystal frost on the branches, the white mist in the mountains, and the wisps of smoke from the Yi people's houses in the reservoir area complement the sparkling blue waves of Chenghai Lake. As the sun rises slowly, the scroll slowly rolls down towards the downstream of the Yangping reservoir area, slowly unfolding in the fiery glow, forming a beautiful and harmonious ink painting. We are proud of it, because we are also the painters of this beautiful and moving picture.
