On March 1st, under the guidance of Yin Zhibin, the leader of the company's "Yunling Chief Technician" and "Yin Zhibin Skills Master Studio," the company's new automatic welding equipment was successfully debugged and put into operation. The No. 9 Kunming Water Purification Plant Wastewater (Phase II) Upgrading Project of the Sixth Engineering Department successfully applied the new automatic pipe welding technology.

Automatic Welding Achievements

This welding machine uses the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) method, a process that uses a continuous wire feed to melt the wire and workpiece with an electric arc under the protection of carbon dioxide gas or a mixed gas (80% CO₂ + 20% Ar), forming a weld pool and weld seam. This method has the advantages of high efficiency, high quality, and low consumption. Its welding efficiency is 1-4 times that of traditional welding machines, avoiding the shortcomings of traditional manual welding machines, which are time-consuming and labor-intensive, and whose welding quality and consistency cannot be guaranteed. It significantly improves the aesthetics, and the welding cost is only 40%-50% of traditional shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Simultaneously, the use of automatic welding technology reduces the labor intensity of operators, improves the operating environment for workers, increases work efficiency, and reduces labor input.
